When used strategically, Twitter can be a powerful marketing tool for veterinarians. Here, we have broken down some of the basic concepts into actionable items even the most novice user can accomplish.
Optimize Bio – Use your Twitter bio to give people a reason to follow you. Include a snippet about your practice and services. Because there is character limit, keep it concise and to the point.
Follow Strategy – It’s important to follow key influencers in the pet care industry including vendors, associations, advocates and even clients! These users should be credible and have a strong reputation in the veterinarian community. It’s a good idea to also follow clients so they are up-to-date on the latest news and announcements from your practice.
Regular posts – Tweet on a regular, preferably daily, basis. Consistent tweeting demonstrates an active, well-maintained profile. Retweeting, or sharing another users' tweet, is a creative and acceptable way to curate additional content and maintain high visibility.
Engage -- Take the time to respond to tweets and thank clients!
